House Amenities

Security

For the safety of our guests and their belongings, all outside doors are locked at all times. Guests use a security access card to enter the House and their room.

Phone/Internet

Free, wireless internet access is available throughout the House.

Breast Pumps

For nursing moms, shared medical-grade breast pumps are available. Please ask the hospital for attachments.

Guest Rooms

The Portland House offers 32 bedrooms with private and shared bathrooms.

Our guest rooms are a variety of arrangements of twin and full-sized beds. Most rooms are handicap accessible.

Common Areas

Guests of the Ronald McDonald House have full access to common areas including kitchens, living rooms, playrooms, dining room, laundry room, resource library, and fenced-in outdoor area.

Kitchen

The House has three fully equipped kitchens available for guest use and includes stoves, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, cookware, bakeware, utensils, glassware, and dishes.

Living Room

The living room offers our guest a chance to relax and watch tv, play a board game, and catch up on quality family time.

Community Room

Another home-like space for families to enjoy a movie, play a board game, or complete a puzzle.

Laundry Room

Washers, dryers, and laundry supplies are available to our guests at no charge. We just ask they are not used during quiet hours: 10pm to 8am.

Winter Garden Room

This open and airy sitting place is a great way to enjoy some sunlight without having to go out in Maine winters.

Playroom and Outdoor Space

Right off the Kitchen is a Playroom filled with toys and books! And our courtyard features a fully fenced-in garden, patio, and play area.

Important Notes for Families

Check-in hours: 8 AM to 6 PM, 7 days a week
Rooms must be used each night to retain your stay.
A $10 nightly donation is suggested. No family is turned away for inability to pay.
Room capacity – 4 persons per bedroom maximum.
You are responsible for cleaning up after your family in any shared, common area and for cleaning your room before check-out. Cleaning supplies are provided.
